Gods'Illa: Do The Right Thing

Remember when groups in the late 80s and 90s dropped knowledge in their verses? That's I've come to respect the most about the three brothers (they are literally brothers) that come together to comprise the D.M.V.'s Gods'illa since discovering them during their performance at The Indie Life concert last month.

In the short time since The Indie Life, I've seen them perform two other times and neither time was anything short of dope. Their show is high energy and they command the crowd with ease as they trade off rhyme after rhyme after rhyme.
After dropping their critically-acclaimed debut album about a year ago, the Gods are back in the studio putting the finishing touches on their new mixtape entitled CPR BlendTape. The 'tape is mixed by DJ Lowdown Loretta and hosted by none other than Erykah Badu. Yeah! Go ahead and read that again.

Check out the first single, Sal Pizzeria, which is inspired by the iconic people shop depicted in Spike Lee's classic Do The Right Thing.

For the life of me
I swear
I do it to the death of yall

CPR BlendTape is scheduled to drop next month. If you're the type of fan that loves dope rhymes that stimulate the brain (without being overtly preachy or too "scientifical") and increase your social consciousness, then you'll be in for a treat.

While you wait for CPR, check out Gods'illa The Album and their ep entitled The PreLease EP. You can also check them out every Tuesday at Bohemian Caverns for their weekly open mic event.
