Smash: The Return

This month could very well be the month of comebacks. Yesterday (really a few weeks) it was Pac Div. Today it's Baltimore's own Smash a.k.a. T-Mac.

It's been over a year since Smash dropped his last mixtape, I Am the Streetz, so it's only right to call it's follow-up Return of the Mac.

Riding alongside the storyline of the (in)famous blaxploitation film, The Mack, Smash weaves in clips from the classic movie as means of setting up and supporting his own story.

A whole lot of stuff may have taken place in the year since Smash had an active project on the streets, but it's apparent that he doesn't feel like he's missed a beat or relinquished his crown. As the intro fades, the first song that floods the speakers is the Lex Luger-produced Own My City.

When it's all said and done, Return is all about anthems. Smash isn't the type of artist who "lays back" when it comes to his music. If you need a soundtrack that gets you hyped up, this is your mixtape.
