Phil Ade: #PhilAdeFriday2

Knowing that #PhilAdeFriday2, a collection of freestyles and original songs, was sitting in my inbox, last night I decided to go back and listen to Phil Ade's A Different World, Phil's last project of original material. It had been a while since I gave the project a spin, so it gave me the feeling of listening to the project for the first time again.

The more I listened to ADW the more I began to think back to when Phil first emerged on the local scene. He seemed to have literally come from nowhere to dropping one of the best mixtapes of '09. Now today, Phil is an emerging artist on the national scene (Phil could be on 2012 cover of XXL's Freshmen Class edition) who continues to deliver high quality music with his trademark of subtle cleverness and grounded sensibilities.

I have yet to listen to this new 'tape in its entirety, but after murdering Drake's Headlines and putting his priorities into perspective on P.O.P. Music, I expect nothing but greatness as he continues to his march to taking over the game. If you haven't given Phil a listen, do yourself a favor in 2012 and get hip!

Double Bonus:

Phil drops by WKYS in DC to promote the new mixtape and give listeners a few additional reasons why he's got now.
